No car for Miss Ghana @ 50
Miss Ghana @ 50, Frances Takyi-Mensah has still not received her prize car for winning the beauty pageant last year, Daily Guide investigations have revealed.

Meanwhile Frances is expected to handover her crown to the winner of this year’s Miss Ghana beauty contest in August.

Shirley Frimpong Manso, the managing director of Sparrow Productions, organizers of Miss Ghana, told Beatwaves on Friday that the car had been handed over to Frances, but interestingly the beauty queen also denied receiving the car when contacted.

Musicians unite to promote peaceful elections
National Peace and Development Campaign on the theme: “United for Peace and Development” was launched on Thursday with a call on Ghanaians to ensure that they contributed to peaceful elections.

The campaign dubbed: "Ghana First Peace Concert" would use music as an instrument to preach peace before, during and after the December Presidential and Parliamentary elections and would attempt to bring together all political parties and their supporters.

Gospel Diva, Esther Smith, has shot back at her husband’s revelations of her scandalous conduct by alleging on a Netherlands-based radio station, Spirit FM that she left her ‘osofo’ husband because he was a he-goat who even slept with their house help.

Her accusations come in the wake of similar accusations of infidelity on her part by the Rev. Ahinkan Bonsu, a Kumasi-based pastor and husband of Esther on Channel R last week.

Gospel star divorces husband
Information reaching BEATWAVES indicates that popular Gospel singer, Rev. Esther Smith has parted ways with her husband of four years, Rev. Ahinkan Bonsu, a pastor at Kumasi in the Ashanti Region.

This followed claims that she had given her newly born baby with the pastor to another man in faraway Germany, where she was now staying.

EU votes 2m-euro grant to support Ghana's cultural development
The European Union has voted a two-million Euro grant for Ghana to design special programmes aimed at transforming the cultural landscape of the country. The amount is being provided through the European Development Fund (EDF).

Mr. Kwasi Gyan-Apenteng, National Coordinator of the Cultural Initiatives Support Program (CISP) announced this in Sunyani at the weekend during the opening of a four-day workshop for about 80 cultural officers and administrators.

Miss China Zi Lin Zhang was crowned Miss World 2007 and Miss Ghana Irene Dwomoh won a fasttrack award - Miss World Talent - at a glittering event at the Chinese tourist resort of Sanya Saturday, beating 106 participants.
